

As we progressed i tested various light setups since the brief called for the HAB shots to be at various times throughout the film. This is clearly visible on having an arbitrary Martian environment on these renders.

We had access to an earlier version of the HAB, since our work commenced before the designs were finalised. One of the first tasks was to develop a style that fits into the overall aesthetics of the screens as well as conveying the idea of these images are being transmitted back from Mars via NASA satellites. I had to come up with cgi shots for the HAB and the surrounding area as well as shots for the rover throughout Watney's journey. Complementing the ui design i had to come up with various 3d elements supporting those whilst helping the narrative and making it easy for the viewers to understand what was going on I had numerous challenges on this epic Ridley Scott adventure.
